        1. Consider how your department is currently meeting the benchmark, make a list of at least 3 of these to discuss with your careers lead at your schools
        2. Design a door display laminate to showcase the different career stories of staff in STEM departments
        3. If you completed the going further task please post findings below

In my department we meet the bench mark in the following ways:

Careers display board pin pointing various pathways (not all university) to different STEM careers.

Careers slides in all lessons pinpointing the relevance of that lesson or unit to certain careers, linking it with other subjects.

Careers days where students will speak to different employers (including STEM), interview days and assemblies with colleges, universities and potential employees.

          Regular meetings with careers lead.

          Benchmark 4 bullet points:

. Students are engaged in their subjects as staff highlight the relevance of their subjects to future careers and opportunities.

. Linking Careers to the Curriculum:

. Students are supported to understand the application of learning through teachers contextualising teaching points within careers, future opportunities and the world of work

. This can be done through a review of current schemes of work and highlight opportunities within content and themes to focus on essential skills/pathways/roles, etc.

A few things we are doing as a department that to meet Gatsby benchmark 4

              • Embedding information (key skills, industry, typical salary) and a suggested link of a career path to the learning content to a careers every other lesson currently. This is part of the lesson introduction. Aim to increase to all lessons.
              • We are organising drop down afternoons/days for selected students to put their STEM learning into practice with invited guests running careers/STEM challenges. This hopes to put learning and science skills into context and raise aspirations.
              • Careers links have been added to the SoW so each lesson has a link that the teacher can try to incorporate into their lesson with an example of how the learned skill would be used in a job.

                  Hi,

I’m trying to complete the course. I am having issue again that I have completed the session 1 quiz, but it doesn’t not register as completed. No worries, in the other course I found a solution was to re-do the quizes after completing the last session and final quiz. However, for this course it won’t let me access sessions 2 or 3, as I have yet to complete the session 1 quiz.

I have tried turning off my adblock and completing the quiz in another browser (originally in firefox, then edge), but to no avail.

Also, I think there needs to be links added to the STEM works and careerometer buttons? They currently do not link to or do anything. Presume this is the link for the careerometer? https://www.lmiforall.org.uk/careerometer/

It is a great tool to use!
